Phenotype: retinal ganglion cell nucleolus morphology, abnormal
Note: This statement combines anatomy and/or ontology terms with phenotype quality terms to create a complete phenotype (EQ) statement. For detailed information on individual terms, click the hyperlinked term name.
Name: retinal ganglion cell
Synonyms: gangliocyte, RGC
Definition: The set of neurons that receives neural inputs via bipolar, horizontal and amacrine cells. The axons of these cells make up the optic nerve.
Ontology: Anatomy Ontology [ZFA:0009310]
Name: nucleolus
Synonyms:
Definition: A small, dense body one or more of which are present in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. It is rich in RNA and protein, is not bounded by a limiting membrane, and is not seen during mitosis. Its prime function is the transcription of the nucleolar DNA into 45S ribosomal-precursor RNA, the processing of this RNA into 5.8S, 18S, and 28S components of ribosomal RNA, and the association of these components with 5S RNA and proteins synthesized outside the nucleolus. This association results in the formation of ribonucleoprotein precursors; these pass into the cytoplasm and mature into the 40S and 60S subunits of the ribosome.
Ontology: GO: Cellular Component [GO:0005730]    QuickGO    AmiGO
Name: morphology
Synonyms:
Definition: A quality of a single physical entity inhering in the bearer by virtue of the bearer's size or shape or structure.
Ontology: Phenotypic Quality Ontology [PATO:0000051]
